What will I learn in the Advanced Python?

The Python Advanced Training course takes over where our Python Fundamentals course leaves off. We cover more advanced features such as file operations, regular expressions, working with binary data, and using the extensive functionality of Python modules.

Extra emphasis is placed on features unique to Python, such as tuples, array slices, and output formatting. This is a Hands-On Programming class. All concepts are reinforced by informal practice during the lecture followed by graduated lab exercises. Python Programming is a practical introduction to a working programming language, not an academic overview of syntax and grammar.

Advanced Python Class Requirements & Prerequisites:

Students should already have a working, user-level knowledge of an operating system such as Linux, Windows, or Mac OS. Completion of Python Beginners class or equivalent experience.

What is Python:

In simple terms Python is a high level programming language. It has a comprehensive standard library which is also very large. It is also a free and open source software. Python also has features such as an automatic memory management, dynamic type, can be placed in standalone executable programs and there are interpreters available for many operating systems.

Python is often used as a scripting language. Its syntax allows programmers to express concepts in fewer lines of code than is necessary in other programming languages. It supports multiple programming paradigms such as: imperative and functional programming or procedural styles and object-oriented.
